Canada Line opened today in Vancouver

The grand opening for the Canada Line was busy, lots of families, kids and tourists. It was expected, but I thought it would be much quiet late in the afternoon, not so.

I arrived at the Waterfront station at 5:15, I stood in line for about 25 minutes, I got on one of the trains at 5:30pm and 28 minutes later, I arrived at the YVR Station. Trasnlink advertises it as a 25 minutes ride, I would say it is accurate. At some stops, we stationed longer than normal.

The trains are roomy, lots of space to accommodate your belongings, if you are a traveller. Lots of bars to hold on, perhaps too many. The doors appear wider. The seats are comfortable, nice for napping or reading in the train.

Bridgeport was very busy and will remain busy I would say. You can switch trains to go to YVR-Airport or Richmond-Brighouse.

My trip back to Waterfront Stn. was exactly 25 minutes, at 8:00, there were people still lining up.

Check my trip in pictures. There are a few of them in my Facebook.
